Ronald McDonald House Tydings & Rosenberg LLP has participated in Baltimore Ronald McDonald House’s volunteer program since 2003. Once each month the firm provides food and volunteers to prepare and serve dinner to the families and residents at the Baltimore Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Some children need to travel great distances to get the medical attention they need. In-hospital treatment may last one day, one year, or even longer. The Ronald McDonald House gives family members a place to sleep, eat, relax, and find support from other families in similar situations. All of this is provided at a low cost to the families. To provide these services, the Ronald McDonald House relies on volunteers and donations such as those by Tydings & Rosenberg.
Tydings & Rosenberg partner, Barry Weiskopf, is Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Ronald McDonald House. When asked about the program and Tydings & Rosenberg's involvement, Barry said that he was pleased at the response and continued commitment from the firm's partners and employees. "The response was overwhelming when we began the project. Partners and staff embraced the idea and we had over 25% of the firm volunteer to participate. We at Tydings know first hand the importance of the Ronald McDonald House programs to families of sick children. Our firm's involvement started when one of our own and his family stayed at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House in 2002 while his daughter underwent medical treatment. The firm rallied around this project and I am very proud of our commitment to the community."
