For more than 40 years, Lee Lundy has guided businesses.  Companies routinely call on him to help move them forward, relying on him to handle all aspects of establishing, financing, operating, buying, and selling businesses.

Mr. Lundy emphasizes personal client service.  He often works as outside general counsel to privately-held companies with diverse legal needs.  As such, he comes to know the businesses he serves intimately and can assist owners with planning and executing business, financial, and personal strategies.  Mr. Lundy’s deep experience in all areas of corporate law allows him to handle transactions efficiently, anticipating trouble before it arises.

In recent years, Mr. Lundy has advised businesses in:

  • Over 100 mergers and acquisitions in the United States and abroad;
  • Tax and business planning for the U.S. business activities of foreign companies;
  • The formation of multi-state, multi-level, tax-efficient structures for health care firms;
  • The formation of capital, compensation, and intellectual property structures for technology start-ups;
  • The development of complex financial instruments and financial services offerings;
  • Secured financings and securitizing of real estate and other asset-backed loans;
  • Tax planning for off-shore activities of U.S. taxpayers;
  • Creating partnerships and other tax-efficient entities in many industries;
  • Developing corporate crisis management plans to prepare for and manage allegations of environmental damage, products liability, tampering, and other catastrophic occurrences;
  • Tax planning in complex property division between partners; and
  • The formation and operation of transportation infrastructure joint ventures.

Mr. Lundy represents companies in many industries, including: manufacturing, professional services, technology, finance, construction, communications, retail, wholesale distribution, engineering, insurance, health care, and real estate.  His clients have included American companies doing business abroad and international corporations doing business in the United States.

Prior to joining Tydings, Mr. Lundy was Vice President and General Counsel of Campbell Soup Company, leading its legal function for 11 years.  He also practiced law with a multi-national law firm for ten years in New York, Washington, D.C., and London.  He has taught at seminars in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and France on doing business in the United States and, in his own country, has lectured on mergers and acquisitions, advertising regulation, and employment law.


Throughout his career, Mr. Lundy has played leading roles in legal and civic organizations.  From 2005 through 2007, he was Chair of MERITAS, Law Firms Worldwide, a highly selective global alliance of independent, full service law firms.  In this capacity, Mr. Lundy traveled widely around the world and facilitated the organization’s growth into new markets. He was honored in 2012 with the Grahovac Award.

Mr. Lundy has volunteered for numerous local not-for-profit organizations.  For 14 years, he served on the board of the Children’s Guild, which runs schools for emotionally disturbed children.  He has also been a member of the boards of the Baltimore Conservatory Association, Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children, the Central Maryland United Way, and the Maryland Orchid Society.
